Our Trustees ensure our Charity develops and grows for the needs of its members. They bring a wide range of knowledge and expertise to the roles giving direction and focus to the Charity.

Liz Knott ~ Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees

Liz joined Time Out Group as a trustee in 2024.

Liz has worked in social housing and for a government regulator for 15 years and has wealth of experience in corporate governance, risk management and internal control frameworks. She has served on the board of her local primary school for 6 years where until recently she was Chair of Governors. Liz also founded and was Chair of the Women’s Network at her organisation for 3 years.

Liz has seen first hand the amazing effect that the Time Out group has on its community through her brother who attends our sessions on a weekly basis. She is excited and proud to be part of the future of the charity.

Michelle Lynn – James – Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees

Michelle James
Michelle brings 25 years of experience in HR and people management across the NHS, retail, hospitality and maritime sectors. She joined the Board as a trustee in 2025 and contributes practical insight on workforce, culture and governance. She is committed to helping Time Out Group create inclusive opportunities and a positive experience for members, staff and volunteers.

 

Andrew Thomas ~ Treasurer

Andrew Thomas ~ Treasurer

Andy joined the Time Out group in 2025.

As Treasurer he has a particular responsibility to manage the organisation’s funds and ensure that it is financially stable.

Andy is passionate about the work of the Time Out Group in providing our members with opportunities to take part in ordinary leisure and social activities in a way that suits them. This is particularly important to him after receiving a personal ASD diagnosis later in life.

Whilst he has now retired from paid work he previously worked as a Chartered Accountant supporting the NHS and Charity sectors.

As he no longer works this means he has more time to spend on his hobbies of cycling, travel and gardening.

Annette John ~ Trustee

Annette John ~ Trustee

Annette joined Time Out Group as a Trustee in 2025, bringing extensive senior-level experience from roles in both public and private healthcare and social care organisations. Her perspective is gained by first-hand knowledge of supporting family and friends with autism and disabilities, reinforcing her commitment to inclusivity and advocacy.​

She has long supported numerous charities and support groups whose missions align with Time Out Group’s core values of enabling people to experience the best of life and supporting diverse communities. Annette’s professional background includes leading and developing transformational projects and programmes; she is passionate about helping Time Out Group members lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives.​

Annette is family-oriented, cherishes her two dogs as members of her family, and enjoys spending her free time swimming, walking, reading, and socialising.​

Huzaifa Moosa ~ Trustee

Huzaifa Moosa ~ Trustee

Huzaifa joined Time Out Group as a trustee in 2024.

He is a qualified solicitor working in a national law firm, based  in Manchester.

Huzaifa brings to the board his legal expertise and experience, but also a personal perspective with close family members with learning difficulties and autism.

Huzaifa hopes to further the charity’s goals to work to create a safe, enjoyable, and open environment for members to join in and be themselves.

In his spare time, Huzaifa enjoys hiking, football (and pretty much all sport), and spending time with his family.

Helen Sturman ~ Trustee

Helen Sturman ~ Trustee

Helen joined Time Out Group as a Trustee in 2025.

She works as a regional manager for a national charity.

Helen has worked for over 10 years in adult social care, managing supported living and day services for adults with learning disabilities and autism. She has also been a Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Manager for a home care service.

Helen is excited to be part of TOG and hopes to bring her passion for supporting others to her work as a trustee.

In her spare time Helen plays tag rugby and plays the saxophone in a band.

Samantha Dunning ~ Trustee

Samantha Dunning ~ Trustee

Samantha brings 18 years experience in healthcare and education to her role as a Trustee at Time Out Group. She has a background in teaching all mandatory healthcare training and was previously the director of a national healthcare recruitment agency. Samantha is now the founder of a successful aesthetic academy, combining her passion for learning, professional development, and entrepreneurship.

Outside of her professional life, Samantha enjoys sea dips, Pilates, and supporting her partner in his professional darts career. She also values spending quality time with her partner, his son and their chow chow and spaniel, reflecting her strong commitment to family and community.
