Time Out Group provides adults (aged 18+) with a learning disability, including autism, with a range of activities to help them improve their confidence, independence, health, wellbeing and happiness, and to provide support and respite for their families, parents and carers.

Member's Stories
Nick’s Story
Nick is very nervous around animals (not dogs, etc but wild animals) but wants to participate in trips like the going to the zoo so he can see them. He asks a lot of questions about being safe such as whether the animals can escape. We try to explain and calm him down.
Some of the members were stroking the wallabies and Nick said he didn’t want to as he was scared. We offered him comfort and he said if Abbie stayed near him he would. He then stroked the Wallaby.
This was a big step for Nick as it showed him trying to get over his fear, being brave, being proud of his achievement and trusting in us that he was safe.

Last night at Active Wednesday, we enjoyed LOTS of different ball games! 🏐⚽🏑 Including coffee pot, hot potato and hockey. We also enjoyed a good old game of musical chairs! 🎶

Today at Together Time, we played 'everything Bingo'! As well as matching the pictures, we had to answer questions and follow actions 👐 we had a little boogie 💃🕺 and a tasty soup for lunch 🍵
We ended the day using Hamma beads to make coasters.

We had a love themed Foodie Friday today 🥰
We began the day baking yummy choc chip muffins 😋 before tucking into a fancy afternoon tea ☕
